The History of Lothlorien of the Elves!

On the 24th of April 2003 Lothlorien of the Elves was created by a girl called Diuel on MSN groups. She was a fantastic manager/webmiss and her friends were excellent Ast. managers. The group had about 20 pages of general LotR content and an amazing Fan poetry section.A lot of the members and managers formed great bonds on the message boards, but there were a lot of "Real Life" problems that sadly tore some of them apart. Scarcely a year later Duiel stopped posting on the message boards, members stopped posting and the entire site sort of died.

I had been a fan of LotE since early 2004 and was upset that it had turned into a giant spam message board like so many other Lord of the Rings sites have become. Although possessing zero "web skilz",I found Duiel's email and asked whether I could manage the group. She accepted so I began to make loads of pages which caused a few of the old members to come back. I made Sammy'sLittleHobbit-Elf (Now gone) and Merugrin Ast. managers too.

Around 2006 I was tiring of msn groups and wanted my own website so LotE could have a nice layout, forum etc. We'd also exceeded our 300 pages limit, so I had to create a second LotE to host pages. So I learnt html, convinced my parents to buy me a domain and moved LotE here! Running LotE has probably been one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and through it I've met some amazing people who love LotR as much as I do.

Duiel, If you ever read this, thank you so much for letting a complete stranger take over your website; it was really sweet of you!
